At Stony Meadows, our greatest joy comes from knowing our puppies have found loving forever homes. We cherish the updates we receive from families, as they remind us of the special bonds we help create. Recently, we received a heartwarming letter from a special member of our Stony Meadows family, Asher, a Mini Golden Retriever puppy now living his best life in Arizona. We thought we’d share his letter with you.
This environment allows our puppies to learn to use a doggy door at a very young age to go outside for potty breaks. Most dogs, even young puppies, have a natural instinct to keep their personal space clean. By giving them the option to go outside, we work with this instinct.
At 5 weeks old: We prop open their doggy door to encourage them to explore the outside world for their bathroom needs.
By 6 weeks old: They are typically doing all their “business” outside!
This process not only makes cleanup much easier for our crew, but it also gives you a huge head start on potty training when you bring your new puppy home.

The cavalier King Charles spaniel, aka simply cavalier, could arguably be considered the ultimate loyal personal companion dog, or family dog.
The mini golden retriever is a hybrid/designer breed that originates from crossing a golden retriever with a ruby-colored cavalier King Charles spaniel, and sometimes a small percentage of mini poodle. Ideal size is 25-30 lb as adults.
